Why
the number 5?
This piece of leather luggage has been designed to commemorate
Aston Martin's 1st Le Mans win. Competing with the DBR1 in 1959,
this was the last Le Mans triumph by an Aston until June 2007
when David Brabham won the same race in a DBR9. Car Number 5
was driven by Briton Roy Salvadori and American Carroll Shelby
in 1959.
2009 is the 50th anniversary of Aston Martin's Le Mans victory
win.
Roy Salvadori owns the very 1st holdall Caracalla
Bagaglio, produced. In a letter to the company he wrote, 'The
holdall is wonderful its reminds me of that great
day'.
This holdall is manufactured in British Racing Green (Verde)
leather which is almost identical to the interior leather of
the orginal Aston Martin. Bianco (white) leather roundel with
a Number 5 in Nero leather (black).
